A woman should have the right to an abortion until it is unsafe to remove the fetus. There are circumstances when it is unfathomable that someone would refuse to give a woman an abortion. For example, if she was raped and impregnated from this traumatizing incident, she should have the choice to keep or discard the child. Young women who use abortion as a method of birth control have numerous moral issues, but the right should be given to them as well. More commonly are the women who are in steady relationships who just aren’t ready (emotionally or financially) to take care of a child.
Now some may argue that they should have the child and give it up for adoption but that’s more torturous than an abortion. Forcing her to carry a child for nine months and destroy her body, just to give it away would completely devastate any woman. Imagine wandering around the mall, constantly wondering if the child tossing coins into the fountain is your little girl, while you drown your sorrows in something deep fried and covered in chocolate because you can’t regain the healthy body you had pre pregnancy.
Having an abortion isn’t depriving someone of a life; it’s giving the woman another chance to live her life.
