Hide Yo Kids.

Anthoine Dodson is one of my favorite success stories of internet memes enhancing a persons life rather than destroying it. The Dodson family lived in housing project in Huntsville, Alabama, when an intruder entered their home attempted to sexually assault Anthoine's sister. The local news picked up the story and Antoine's interview had a wonderful rhythm. His passionate speech was almost like a poem being recited into the news camera. It was latter picked up by Auto-Tune the News and turned into a internet sensation. The video currently has over 46 million views on youtube and appeared on the Billboard Top 100 List.

The success story in this is that with the profits from the sale of the parody song on itunes the Dodson family was able to earn enough money to buy a house. Anthoine was also able to donate to a foundation for juvenile diabetes which afflicts both his sister and his mother. This is a wonderful example of how the internet pop culture can actually inspire and lift people up rather than hurting them. It is inspiring that someone who lived with so little would give so much back to his community when fortune befell him. It would have been easy for his family and him to take the money for only themselves because they were obviously in need at the time of this fortune, yet he took part of the money to and put it toward a cause that affects American rich and poor.

Dodson has a very poetic, almost Shakespearean, way of speaking that make him a perfect candidate for Auto-Tune the news. Some people are poetic and inspiring without meaning to be and that is why this is such a wonderful story. In a world where we are surrounded by reality shows, his honestly is refreshing. Passion is something that can translate through any medium even the terrible and porn infested internet and sometimes a beautiful story comes forth.
